Chevrolet News

Lending further marketing value to the Millennials, Chevrolet introduced two concept coupes aimed at inspiring next-generation buyers to take the wheel, and seeks their input for a car they can co-create. Over the past year, Chevrolet has conversed with young consumers across the United States.  Based on their feedback, the Chevrolet concepts explore the styling and functionality this group of new buyers says they are looking for in a car.
According to U.S. Census data, there are 80 million American consumers approaching 30. They represent 40 percent of today’s potential car-buying public and a combined $1 trillion in purchasing power. Chevrolet is marketing these concepts directly to that audience.

Chevrolet Tahoe News

The world has fewer full-size sport-utility vehicles these days--maybe a good thing--but one of the diehard survivors will be the Chevrolet Tahoe.  Spun from the same running gear as GM's full-size pickup trucks and other big utes like the Cadillac Escalade, the Tahoe is the less lengthy companion to the likes of the Chevy Suburban. It's pitched as the traditionally strong performer in a crowd including the gas-powered utes like the Ford Expedition, Toyota Sequoia, and Nissan Armada. As a Hybrid, it takes on the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class with the clean BlueTEC diesel and the BMW X6 Hybrid, but more likely, GM's own Cadillac Escalade Hybrid and Yukon Hybrid.
The Tahoe nameplate arrived in the 1995 model year, replacing the Blazer badge and was teamed with a four-door model. Based on the big GM trucks, the Tahoe was powered in most cases by a big 5.7-liter V-8. A turbodiesel version found few applications and few buyers. In this generation, sold until the 1998 model year, GM added a driver-side airbag and a luxury-trim Limited package, which was sold in the 2000 model year. This version overlapped with the entirely new "GMT800" Chevy Tahoe, which was new for the 2000 model year.

Chevrolet Tahoe 2012.

The 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe is arguably a relic of another time, when gas was a bit cheaper and many more U.S. families looked to truck-based SUVs for everyday use. That time has passed—and there are a number of much better, more passenger-friendly crossover wagons like Chevrolet's own Traverse just for passenger duty. But the body-on-frame sport-utility vehicle is still relevant today if you need truck toughness or good tow ratings along with good passenger space. And to give the Tahoe an added touch of relevance for today's more fuel-economy-minded shoppers, there's the 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, which has EPA ratings of up to 23 mpg.
With styling that's definitely dated, the 2012 Tahoe probably won't charm you over from a more contemporary design, but it's still handsome next to any of the competition. Inside, the Tahoe has a lower-set, more carlike instrument panel, with rounded edges and a less 'macho' look than rival models such as the Toyota Sequoia and Nissan Armada. In lower trims it can look a little plasticky, but move up to the LTZ and the look is decidedly premium. There's not much to distinguish the Tahoe Hybrid model, but it does have several subtle modifications that improve aerodynamics and reduce weight, along with a number of Hybrid badges and, inside, a different display screen.
From bold luxury to rugged refinement, CARiD.com offers a full selection of

Chevy Volt can burn more gas than a Prius.

Chevy VoltImage by cseeman via FlickrWith school back in session, it's time for some students to answer the age-old question: "How did you spend your summer vacation?" Nine-year-old Jared Paramonoff's summer tale included a Chevrolet Volt, a 3,790-mile road trip and even a border crossing or two.
Immediately after Andreas Paramonoff drove his Volt from Southern California to Western Canada, his wife, Brenda, and son, Jared, hopped in for a ride from Vancouver, British Columbia down to San Diego and back. That's a lot of miles to put on a new car – 3,790, to be precise – and Andreas charged the Volt 11 times along the route. So, even though the roadtrippers never had to stop when the Volt's battery was depleted, only 450 miles of the journey were covered in electric-only mode. That's an impressive 40.1 mile average EV range, but it also means that 3,350 miles of the trek were done in "range-extended" mode.
Note this takeaway point: while General Motors touts (or, at least, touted) the Volt as "More Car Than Electric," this 3,790-trip shows that it's possible to have a Volt burn more gas than a Toyota Prius would on long trips like this
